A. He took the blood from the one who was stirring it.
B. He [again] went into the place into which he had entered [earlier] and again stood on the place on which he had stood [M.Yoma 5.3A- B].
C. Then he sprinkled some of it [M.Yoma 5.4C] on the Mercy Seat toward the two bars of the ark,
D. one time upwards and seven times downwards. But he did not intentionally sprinkle upwards or downwards. But he did it like one who cracks a whip [M.Yoma 5.3C-E].
E. And thus did he count, ``One, one and one, one and two, one and three, one and four, one and five, one and six, one and seven`` [M.Yoma 5.3F].
F. R. Judah [T4; PA4 or PA5 in Y] said in the name of R. Eliezer [T2 or T5], ``Thus did he count: `One, one and one, two and one, three and one, four and one, five and one, six and one, seven and one.```
G. He went out to his left, along the veil.
H. And he did not touch the veil.
I. But if he touched it, he touched it.
J. Said R. Eleazar [T4 in M or PA3] b. R. Yose [T4], ``I myself saw it in Rome and there were drops of blood on it.
``And he told me, `These are from the drops of blood of the Day of Atonement``` [cf. M.Yoma 5.4J].
